Industry Groups

Many of the activities of Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) take place within the Industry Groups below. MHIA member companies who are also members of these Industry Groups demonstrate their industry leadership in their particular product area as well as their commitment to excellence, safety and quality in the products and services they provide. They supply these equipment and systems worldwide and in virtually every major manufacturing and distribution sector.

Ergonomic Assist Systems and Equipment Council: is the resource for trends, information, practices, equipment, and organizations that focus on ergonomics and improving the working interface between people and the materials they must move and use to reduce injury, increase productivity while providing a significant return on investment.

Hoist Manufacturers Institute: members are the Industry’s leading suppliers of overhead handling hoists including hand chain hoists, ratchet lever hoists, trolleys, air chain and air rope hoists, and electric chain and electric wire rope hoists.

Institute of Caster and Wheel Manufacturers: members are the Industry’s leading suppliers of casters, wheels, bearings, and industrial trailer trucks, platform trucks and towline trucks.

Rack Manufacturers Institute, Inc.: members are the Industry’s leading suppliers of Industrial Steel Storage Racks and Related Structural Systems. They supply industrial rack solutions worldwide.

Reusable Container and Pallet Association: members are the Industry’s leading suppliers of the reusable/returnable industrial plastic containers, pallets and packaging.

Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association: members are the Industry’s leading suppliers of industrial storage equipment.

Supply Chain Execution Systems & Technologies Group: members are the Industry’s leading suppliers of Supply Chain Execution software, hardware and services.
